July 21st, 2008 - Roll Call is Active

Whew it's been awhile since we got some news worthy stuff..either that or i've been lazy! Hand of Set is doing very well in Age of Conan. Though the game is certainly not what we wanted, it is a neat concept. Yet we are gearing up for WAR as well. The powers that be at Legend Gaming and HoS have decided to start a roll call. The main reasons for this are to attempt to get our roster up to date again. The AoC UI has prevented us from doing it so far. Also it allows us to get our numbers straight for WAR.

The Roll call will expire on July 31st. As with past roll calls, it is mandatory and failure to answer will result in your removal. Please visit the Court of Priests for details.

May 5th, 2008 - Pre-Release Meeting May 10th, 2008

We have rescheduled the Pre-Release Meeting for May 10th, 2008 at 8pm EST. This should be easier on our members who have mothers *wink* Remember, the meeting is mandatory. Check the Court of Priests for more information.

May 5th, 2008 - Hand of Set Writing Contest Ends!

The Writing Contest has concluded! The winners were:

1. First Place: "The Monk" by Khartoum
2. Second Place: "The Demon Ring" by Cireese
3. Third Place: "Stormy Day" by Siil

First Place Prize was a copy of Age of Conan: Collector's Edition, valued at 90$. The Second Place prize was a 60 day gamecard for Age of Conan. Third place recieved a 30 day gamecard for Age of Conan.

April 28th, 2008 - Hand of Set Thanks Curse Gaming

April 28th, 2008 - Hand of Set Writing Contest closes today!

The Hand of Set Writing contest ends today. It has been ongoing since March 31st, 2008. We were very pleased with many of the submitted works of our members. The grand prize is a free copy of collector's edition of Age of Conan. There are also wonderful 2nd place and 3rd place prizes totalling over 135$. Over the next week, members of Hand of Set will be able to vote on the submitted works. On May 5th, we will announce the winners. Best of luck to all the contestants.

April 14th, 2008 - New Hand of Set Updates

We have undergone a few changes in the last few weeks. Those who have visited our forums have probably noticed the new chat box and Arcade Game Section. Special thanks to our Webmaster, Amenhotep, for working so very hard on setting those neat features up.

Our Roll Call is winding down, scheduled to end on April 21st, 2008. If you are a Full Member or Trial Member of Hand of Set, please visit the Court of Priests area of our forums and answer the roll call. Those who fail to answer are removed from Hand of Set.

March 21st, 2008 - Military Meeting Scheduled

PvP Meeting March 30th 6pm EST

Meeting will be held in Ventrilo and is open to all Hand of Set Members.

Topics to be discussed:

1). Saew'et and Nekh'et ranks. A follow up on these ranks for our newer members and the accepting of applications for Nekh'ets. Officially, on March 30th, we will begin appointing Nekh'ets based on applications.

2). A very detailed explanation of Hand of Set's new hierarchy and how this effects the Age of Conan Chapter of our Multi-Gaming guild.

3). A detailed explanation of the requirements of the PvP officer position (Chapter Officer) and how and when I will pick someone for the job.

4). A discussion of PvP strategies which will be deployed by HoS in game.

New RP Council

The first 9 members of the RP Council have been chosen. Omorose will serve as chairman until March 30th, 2008. They will then choose a new chairman by election. The first nine members are:

February 10th, 2008 - Military Meeting Scheduled

The Military Sphere of Hand of Set will be holding another ventrilo meeting for all Hand of Set members on February 16th, 2008 at 6pm EST.

Our topics to discuss: AoC PvP System, Saew'ets and Nekh'ets,Military Code of Conduct,and a discussion on WAR (Warhammer Online).

All potential Saew'ets are required to attend this meeting.

January 23rd, 2008 - Roll Call Jan 2008

It's Roll Call time. All members of Hand of Set are urged to check their emails and PMs for roll call instructions. You can find the Roll Call thread in the Court of Priests. The Roll Call will end Feb. 13th, 2008. This gives all members 4 weeks to respond.

January 7th, 2008 - Lore Sphere Guild Meeting

There will be a Lore Sphere Meeting on Friday, January 11th at 8pm EST. All Disciples and Stonesnakes invited.

It will be held in Ventrilo.

We will be discussing various topics including ideas for new RP topics, plans for implementing RP ingame (ceremonies, events, daily RP, storylines, etc.), and some upcoming changes in the diplomacy sphere.

December 11th, 2007 - PvE and Military Sphere Meetings

On December 12th, 2007 at 8pm EST, the PvE sphere of Hand of Set will be hosting a two hour ventrilo meeting with Osahar as the host. In this meeting we will be going over DKP (Loot Distribution), General PvE rules, etc.

November 02, 2007 - New Officer Appointments

Please congratulate Nadraxes and Amenti on their recent appointment to officership. Nadraxes was appointed to the rank, Apostle of Seshem'et. In this role, he will assist in our diplomatic efforts. Amenti was appointed Apostle of Seba'et. In this role, he will help lead our guild forward in recruitment and training.

October 13th, 2007 - Roleplay Apostle Chosen

Congratulations to Kalam for being appointed to Role-Play Apostle spot. We hope that under his leadership, the Role-Play Sphere will continue to prosper. I wanted to remind Disciples that we will be accepting applications to the Diplomacy Sphere Apostle as of today. Contact Zurual Drahl via Email or PM if you are interested with your qualifications.

September roll call results are in. Over 97% of the guild's membership answered the roll call. We are very happy with these results and appreciate our active members.

September 12, 2007 - PVP/PVE Combat Level

It was announced recently that in Player Versus Player combat, your PVE level will be ADDED to your PVP level!

This came as wonderful news to the majority of Hand of Set, as it is very conducive to our multi-directional guild structure, and means that no matter WHAT you’re doing as a member in HoS, you will become more powerful in PVP combat as well as PVE, and be even more valuable as a servant of Set.

The game looks better and better all the time, and with the advent of the PVP Aware from Ten Ton hammer, the pushback hurts a little less each day, we will be seeing you in March!

Greetings Hand of Set brothers and sisters, (and Guests, Honored or otherwise!)

Welcome to the new website, www.handofset.com. It’s been a long time in the making, but thanks to the hard work of Amenhotep, Zurual and many officers and members contributing content, it is finally open to the public. So have a look around! Stay awhile! (Preferably stay for the nightly orgy!)

In the meantime, a few notes on what we hope this will become; Khufu’s News will be a weekly article, detailing the goings-on of HoS,  announcements of changes in the general census, and a general update on AoC news. Will I be posting something that’s already somewhere else on the tubes? OF COURSE! But until that open beta, id rather use my hands for typing (and orgies) than just twiddling my thumbs.

- We're making some major changes to the back-end workings of the website so I've been hesitant to update it with the most current member information. A few things have been completed, the most important of which was as the incorporation of a brand new message board (and transfer of the database from the old one). This board uses php and a MySQL database and opens up many new avenues for our site development. For now please be patient as we continue our site construction. You may still use our message board and recruitment is still active.
